Community Relations is so important for schools. With todays technology and social media platforms administrators have the ability to continually keep families engaged, informed and alerted in case of emergencies. But it's
also a tool to show that the school is on the students' and families' side. As an educator, we often solve our problems with the phrase, "but what is best for the student?" This simple idea reminds us educators that we are there for the student, and in essence, the families and the community. When I am an administrator, I will make sure to be available for the community and do reach-outs. Advertising to the community about what the school is about and gathering ideas about how to help the community makes the bonds between schools and communities that much stronger. |
